About Us

Transforming Lives with the Love of Jesus Christ

Church of the Nativity is a new mission church, planted in the northeast valley in Fall 2006 under the leadership of our priest, the Rev. Susan Snook.  We began worshiping in Grayhawk Elementary School in 2006, then moved to our current location in an office building at 7010 E. Chauncey Lane, near Scottsdale Road and the 101, in January 2008.  We are currently engaged in a visioning process to determine our permanent location, where we will move by the end of 2012.

Why start a new church?  We believe that there are many good reasons, but the most important one is that we are excited about Christ's love, and we want to share it!  Church of the Nativity is a caring, inclusive Christian community that welcomes every person, warmly and personally; that generously reaches out to those in need; that loves to share transformative worship and beautiful music; that makes ministries with children and youth a very high priority; and that takes delight in everything we do, knowing that God's love empowers it all!

Here in Desert Ridge & North Scottsdale, we believe that God has called us to reach out to our community, to provide a place of inspiration and fellowship, and to teach about God’s love for us in Christ. We respect and honor the place of each individual, with unique gifts and passions. We believe that God calls us into community so that we can celebrate and honor each other’s uniqueness while we help each other live into our faith. We welcome people at every stage in their spiritual journey – especially those who have questions and doubts!
